KEVIN TAFFE
I moved to Rockdale County in 2000 when Narrene and I decided to get married. We were looking for a place to not only start our family, but a place for us to grow and thrive as a young couple. Narrene and I have been married for 22 yrs. She’s one of the founders of Premier Medical Careers (PMC). We have two children, Charles, a senior at Georgia Tech, and Charlize, a sophomore at Florida A&M University (FAMU).
We were excited to have bought our first home in Rockdale. Being in healthcare, my wife had a vision to mentor others to get their start in the medical field, and thus, Premier Medical Careers was started in 2005. PMC is a post secondary school that has trained thousands of individuals in the medical field and has gifted over 40 individuals with an education through the Lucille “Mama” Francis Scholarship.
We fell in love with Rockdale County and wasted no time getting involved in the community.
I am a part of several boards to aid in the betterment of people which ultimately leads to the betterment of our community. Currently I am the Vice President of the Kiwanis Club, whose mission is to help and serve kids. We strive to give every K-3rd grade child a book in Conyers, because reading is a superpower that every child should have. I am a Board Member of the Conyers Boys and Girls Club, a Board Member of Hills Academy, a Mentor for Men Building Men, I’m on the United Way Advisory Board, I’m the Visionary and Founding member of Courageous Conversations Rockdale and Courageous Conversations Rockdale Youth.
I’m a servant leader in the community, who wants to continue supporting our community by serving as a member on the Rockdale County School Board. There’s a lot of work to be done and I’ve been commissioned to help get it done. It’s going to take not just me, not just the Board, but our entire community to work to make sure we have the best school system possible.
